About O'Neill Architecture

One of the leading architectural practices in Brisbane, O'Neill Architecture, has been shaping the built environment on the East Coast for almost three decades. Under the direction of Justin O'Neill, Meaghan Morice, and Andrew Kimmins, the practice celebrates a diverse output and firm commitment to designing meaningful spaces. Rather than adhering to a specific architectural style, O'Neill Architecture brings a broad array of experience from many different sectors, enriching the firm's cumulative knowledge and allowing it to complete projects that are innovative yet tailored to the special needs of each client.

O'Neill Architecture

The firm prides itself on the philosophy of diversity in design, refuting the concept of an in-house style for solutions generated through research, strategic thinking, and collaboration with the client. Through this, O'Neill Architecture develops buildings and public spaces focused on enhancing the quality of life of the end user, creating spaces that are functional but connect people to each other and to the environment. It focuses on the user and their experience about context—the particularity of each job—thereby creating invariably remarkable and enduring spaces.

Another important aspect of the practice at O'Neill Architecture is sustainability. Environmentally responsible design forms the basis of every project developed by the firm, with the inevitable urgency in the need to address current climate challenges. O'Neill Architecture has a great focus on sustainable development, trying to make positive impacts on the environment with its construction of buildings for healthier and sustainable futures. Further evidence for this commitment is the firm taking full responsibility for leading the shaping of a resilient built environment.

O'Neill Architecture

Justin O'Neill is the founder and managing partner of O'Neill Architecture; he also has a sterling background in architecture and leadership. His journey began with the establishment of Justin O’Neill Architects in 1992, which later evolved into Arkhefield, where he was a founding partner until 2010. An honours graduate of the University of Queensland, First Class Honours, O'Neill's career is punctuated by awards to its credit, including the RAIA Bronze Medallion and the National Student Architectural Design Competition award. He has also held notable positions, including Director of the Queensland Architecture Awards and National Councillor for the Royal Australian Institute of Architects.

Under the direction of Justin O'Neill, the company has developed a connected business model comprising a research group that drives investigation into new processes and market innovations. This is complemented by an investment vehicle that supports the development of early-stage projects in collaboration with forward-thinking entities. In this integrated model, O'Neill Architecture continues to challenge the boundaries of design, providing significant contributions to the evolving architectural landscape in Brisbane and beyond.
