Doha Golf Club offers an outstanding game in a lush green oasis, with breathtaking views over the city. Founded in 1998, it is one of the oldest golf courts in the region. It is also well known for its continuing desire to offer a variety of leisure activities, social events, and dining options outside of golf.
The journey of the club began with the hosting of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, which was another first for grass golf in Qatar. Now an established event, boasting the young Scot Andrew Coltart as its inaugural winner, this competition is proving to be a very important part of the European Tour's Middle East schedule and furthering the prestige of the club.
Another impressive feature included in the Doha Golf Club is its 27-hole desert course, designed by Peter Harradine. This course comprises an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole floodlit academy course that offers difficult conditions where any professional golfer can play. The large Arabian-style clubhouse is matched with 5-star food and beverage services from the Mayfair Hospitality Group, making the atmosphere social and friendly.
It has a championship course with a full-length driving range, eight lakes, and several trees and shrubs from the regional and international desert environments. However, the afternoon winds can be really challenging as compared to the mornings, which are relatively easier to play in.
Trenched in heritage but boarded with comprehensive facilities, Doha Golf Club still has a feel to it of being the home of golf in Qatar, therefore promising an unforgettable experience for members and guests alike.
