Yoga 108 is a yoga studio based in Barcelona that merges the tradition of yoga with experimental practices to bring off a unique experience. The main aim is to come up with a style of yoga that would serve contemporary needs, developing strength and agility from the outside and softness and power from the inside. Every class at Yoga 108 comprises the three fundamentals of movement: movement-āsana, breathing-prānāyāma and consciousness-meditation.
The team at Yoga 108 is warm and friendly, simplistic with curiosity, linking up to the practices in yoga. They respect their community members, who are diverse and address different issues and experiences, that commitment to transformative yoga has made beyond its influence on the mat.
Classes at Yoga 108 are fully equipped with mats, blocks, belts, and blankets. There is storage in the studio for those who would like to bring their own mats. Personal sessions address individual goals and can be taken ad hoc or as a supplement to the classes.
Before the first class actually starts, they do have a meeting to understand the kind of individual needs and discuss the development of a personalised yoga plan. The classes are at three levels: Basic, All, and Intermediate. The basic level class would most suit a beginner, where the main postures forming the foundation are taught. The classes for all levels include alternatives, either for more intense moments or at places that need more technique. A special convenience to those with some experience in yoga will be created by intermediate-level classes to help them learn techniques and asanas at a more advanced level.
Quite important to note as well is the fact that even while yoga confers several benefits on health, it cannot be said to be professional advice or therapy in medicine when carried out in group class settings.
